Holy shit! I’ve no idea why more people didn’t/don’t buy these. It’s that wonderful combination of an extremely interesting car that’s based on an extremely common and maintainable car.

Honestly the only interest of this car is its doors, cockpit with nice surround view and that it was made of unobtainium for many years... other than that, it’s a very basic econobox.

Well, it’s not exactly the only car that Jalop americans drool on for the sole and only reason that they’ve never been able to buy one for 25 years...
“Ouhhhhhhh a Suzuki Alto!!! I want one sooo bad!!” :)

Just adding a bit to it... It’s the same as this with a better surround view...

RHD, Aussie plate frame, American spelling of “tire” in the background, and gull wing doors on what looks like a Paseo. Interesting.

You’d get much more fun from an fto if you are looking for jdm fwd.

Well, considering that I live in Japan, looking for anything else other than JDM cars is fairly rare. There are a few grey imports though :)
Even most Corvettes are JDM with changes required on the body, blinkers and such. Ferraris too with wider fenders and so on...

Have you driven one? I have and it’s pretty bad really... The car feels harsh, it’s cramped, everything is shaking inside the hard plastic paradise that is the interior, you don’t feel like driving a 4WD car and while the launch is good, it’s just not enough to pass over the rest of how cheap the car is.
It’s also nowhere as low as a Cappuccino or an AZ-1 killing that feeling of speed provided in both.
I’d stick with a slower Mini I instead of that anytime...

When I went to Japanese Classics to pick up my Land Rover they had a bright green one. It was a very nice example and got great gas mileage.

According to their website, that one has sold. I wonder if it fell through, or if the owner just hasn’t picked it up.

That was taken back in November before I think it was listed. You should call them, they were a pleasure to work with and had very nice cars. They are always getting new ones in.

Yeah, if the auction on eBay falls through he’s going to contact them. Also, I want to see your Land Rover now. Is it from Japan?
Also, you seem to be somewhat new to Oppo, so I’ll go ahead and give you a follow so you aren’t in the grey anymore. At some point, you can apply for authorship in one of the membership threads. I’m sure that some of the people on here would love to see your Rover.

The story is a little complicated. It from a small village of 500 people in Spain near the Portugal border where it was a bakery’s delivery truck. It was also the village ambulance for a long time because the village was to small for a real one. It was bought from the original owners nephew not long ago by Valencia Classic Vehicle Consulting, which specializes in Land Rovers. They did some basic things to it then imported it. It was transported to Japanese Classics who sell their cars for them. We went there and bought it from them.

Is it still rocking those plates here?

We kept both of those then put on vanity plates as well. The front plate goes under the drivers side headlight. And the rear plate goes where the old one is so it has the light. And the old plate is moved to the passenger side.

It's in the shop getting that done and a whole lot more to it. New steering swivel balls, tires, brakes, undercoating, lights, door seals and new seats. It should be done in the next two weeks.

There’s a mod post somewhere. Just comment and you’ll become an author. I’ll share your comment though, maybe that’ll help...?
